Niamey or a dune photo: what can you actually share?

If Niamey is already on the ticket, start with whether your own government still treats this month as a trip you may take. The river city is real. The old trade towns are real. Nomadic lives are real. Severe security risk is also real, and it is the part that decides if any of those become days two people can share. Someone else's dune photograph is not a booking.

The person you want as a travel companion already opened the same government page. They will only share a hotel twin and a CFA cash float if that movement is actually running.

What should you check before you treat this as a trip?

Another name on the dates does not invent a circuit that is not running. Read the advisory from your own government the week you talk. Ask whether your insurer will even speak the country's name. Ask whether anyone is actually running a movement that includes you, your nationality, and those dates. Intercity buses with names such as SONEF or Rimbo have existed as a way to sit between cities. Practical notes still treat many of those roads as dangerous because of banditry and terrorism. Armed escorts have been required outside Niamey in many periods. Settle that before anyone talks about atmosphere. If you cannot answer it, you do not have a Sahara week. You have a photograph of dunes from someone else's year.

If you already share the same permission, a room and the cash count are the easy part. "Agadez or bust," with no operator, is a sentence the road does not have to honour. December through February is climate in Niamey, not a Sahara season you may buy.

Which names are cities, and which are not circuits?

Niamey is the capital on the Niger River: markets, diplomatic compounds, heat, river life. Tahoua is a Sahel commercial crossroads with livestock trade in the Ader. Zinder is a historic Hausa city with the memory of the Damagaram sultanate in its streets. Sabara Bangou is a small agricultural settlement in Tillabéri, useful as a reminder that rural names are not meetup pins.

Put Niamey in the trip if that is where you will sleep. Put Zinder or Tahoua only if the permission already names them. Leave Sabara Bangou off a listing. It is a village with fields, not a place two visitors go to find each other. Leave Agadez out of the title unless the operator already put Agadez in the voucher. Caravan romance without a circuit is not a week.

What would two people actually split if a circuit exists?

If a permitted movement exists, the bill is still not a backpacker trio.

• The operator or institutional package, including any escort that package requires
• A Niamey hotel twin, or a room in the one other city you are allowed to sleep in
• Domestic or permitted transfer seats on the same morning
• CFA cash for food and the extras nobody invoices

Eat what the city is already selling: rice cooked rich with meat and vegetables, spicy dried kilishi, a peanut stew, grilled mutton, a millet and fermented-milk drink if that is the stall. Those plates are lunch. They are not an itinerary.

What can a second person actually change?

A known second person can watch a bag, split a twin, and keep you from performing solo tourist in a capital that is not hosting that identity. They cannot make a closed or high-risk road into a scenic transfer. If the honest status is Niamey only, the listing should say Niamey only. If the honest status is do not go, the honest action is to close the dates. Company helps you count cash and decide. It does not talk a closed road into opening. Writing Sahara in the listing does not open a road that is closed.
