What does TravelBFF collect?
TravelBFF collects two different piles of data because it is two different hosts. travelbff.org is a public marketing site. It does not require an account. Cloudflare and our host typically see standard request logs: IP address, user agent, and URL. We do not run a TravelBFF login on this host. The Mini App is where the real profile lives. You open it from @travelbffbot. Telegram provides signed launch data so we know the Telegram user is genuine. The Mini App then stores the profile you choose to fill: name and bio fields, photos, travel plans, posts, trip memberships, and messages you send inside TravelBFF. That data lives on TravelBFF servers so matching and chat can work. Nearby is a city, not a stored GPS pin. We do not sell the profile as a marketing list. Telegram's own privacy policy still applies to the messenger.
| Where | What we see |
|---|---|
| travelbff.org | Request logs. No TravelBFF login. |
| Mini App | Profile, photos, plans, trip chat, city. |
| Nearby | City only. Never a live GPS pin. |
Where does the public site stop and the Mini App start?
Two hosts
The Mini App is where the real profile lives. You open it from @travelbffbot. Telegram provides signed launch data (so we know the Telegram user is genuine). The Mini App then stores the profile you choose to fill: name and bio fields, photos, travel plans, posts, trip memberships, and messages you send inside TravelBFF. That data lives on TravelBFF servers so matching and chat can work. The Mini App host (app.travelbff.org) is not built for search engines and is blocked from crawlers.
What is Telegram's role?
Telegram gets you in. We decide what TravelBFF keeps after that. Telegram authenticates the Mini App session and carries the client. Their privacy policy applies to the messenger itself. We do not control Telegram's infrastructure. We do control what TravelBFF stores after launch. Conversations you have inside the Mini App are TravelBFF product data plus whatever Telegram sees as the webview host. We do not claim a special end-to-end encryption story for Mini App chat on this page.
Do you store a live GPS pin?
Nearby is a city, not a live GPS drop. Nearby features use city, not a stored exact GPS point. Do not treat that as anonymity. A city plus a distinctive profile can still identify you. Do not publish onward tickets or a hostel name if you do not want them linked to your face.
Do you sell the profile?
Your photos and plans are not a list we hawk. We do not sell your Mini App profile as a marketing list on this site. We will not invent a tracker we cannot name. If a future analytics tool is added to the marketing site, this page will name it.
How do I delete my account?
- Use in-app account controls where they exist.
- If you cannot reach them, write via the channel or contact page.
- Name the Telegram account. Do not send a login code.
Want it gone? Start in the Mini App. Use in-app account controls where they exist. If you cannot reach them, write via the @travelbff channel or the contact page and ask for deletion of your Mini App account. We will need enough to find the Telegram user. Do not send a login code.
