Tallinn week or Helsinki ferry: who is sharing Estonia?

A short week in Estonia usually lives inside Tallinn's walls. The Old Town is a two-person walk, guild halls and evening ramparts, and the apartment already quotes for two. The Helsinki ferry is a different plan: a second ticket, a second city desk, and a morning you both have to want. Kalamaja and the old factory yards sit next to all of that, quieter, and they are not the same room as a tower view behind the gates.

Eat verivorst if winter food is honest. Kiluvõileib is the sprat sandwich people actually order. Kohuke is the sweet curd snack from the grocery fridge. Mulgipuder is the potato and groats mash when you want a real plate. Kama is the traditional drink that tastes like the country, not a café trend. Those foods are Tallinn. They do not decide whether the ferry sentence belongs in the trip.

When is a Tallinn week worth sharing?

May to September is when Old Town terraces, ferry decks, and bog-boardwalk days are shared outdoor time. Winter is Christmas market and darkness. Write winter only if both people actually want that kind of week.

A long weekend is Tallinn. A week is Tallinn plus a forest day or a written Helsinki ferry. Two weeks is how people start inventing a third Baltic capital in the same bag. If Riga or Vilnius is already the next idea, put it on the next trip.

The currency is the euro. The room is still the line that matters. Food is not what makes leftover singles expensive here. The empty second pillow is.

Why does the Helsinki ferry change the week?

Because the boat is a second ticket and a second city desk. A cheap Baltic add-on to Finland only works if both names already want the crossing. One person treating Tallinn as a full week and the other treating it as a queue for Helsinki is how the Old Town room feels wasted.
