If you already have the China tickets, lunch is a QR code and the morning is a reserved seat. The week gets kinder when the other person already taps Alipay or WeChat Pay and already holds the same gaotie, because metro gates and 12306 do not wait for a foreign card to become magic. Someone who still thinks that card will buy breakfast is living a different morning, even if you land the same night.

The country runs from imperial cores to provincial towns that do not photograph like Shanghai. Mandarin is the language. English thins fast outside hotel desks. Currency is the yuan, also called renminbi. You eat Peking duck when Beijing is real, xiaolongbao when a steamer appears, Sichuan hot pot if spice is the night, mapo tofu when the kitchen is honest, and dim sum if the south is the week.

If Hunan is the week, name Yongzhou where the Xiao and Xiang rivers meet. If you are already on the Liaoning coast under Dalian, name Wafangdian. Those towns are honest if that is actually the week. Check the current visa rules for your passport the week you book. A screenshot from last year is not a plan, and a friend who flew last spring is not a visa-free story. Book via 12306 or Trip.com together so nobody is chasing a leftover single in the unreserved car. April to May and September to October keep most rail weather usable without midsummer heat or holiday crush. Holiday weeks inside those months still change ticket stock, so say the holiday if your dates hit one. A week is one region and one rail spine. Twelve days if a second city is already ticketed. Beijing plus a second province plus a northeast coast in seven nights is how you fight over luggage in a station hall. Name the station and the train date.

A Taiwan rail week is a different title, not a side quest tucked inside this one.

When should two people go?

April to May and September to October are the rail windows. Confirm visas. Mandarin still wins the ticket window. Eat the duck or the hot pot after the seats are reserved.

Which city or station do you name first?

Name Beijing if the capital is night one and the wall or a north rail day is the point. Name Nanyang or Jiangguanchi if Henan is honestly the week. Name Yongzhou if southern Hunan is the week. Name Wafangdian if the Bohai coast under Dalian is where you already are.

What do two people actually split?

Where do you talk before the first gaotie?

Once those 12306 seats are paid, open TravelBFF in Telegram and put the station you can both name in the trip. Talk in the chat while the train is still a reservation. If you meet, do it by the boards at Beijing South or at a noodle window you can both tap, not in a room you have not seen. Keep the tickets in your own name.
