If Ukraine is already on your calendar, open the official page before you pick a station. The kind first question is not which old town looks gentle in a photograph. It is whether this week's advice still treats the country as a trip you would take. The country is in an ongoing war. Kyiv and Lviv still have the architecture people remember. The Carpathians still have hills. The kitchen is still the one with borscht and varenyky. Those things are real. They are not a reason to write as if the old weekend paragraph still applies. Hryvnia is the currency. Ukrainian is what you will see on signs and train boards. Entry rules and airspace change. A blog cannot invent a visa, a safe oblast, or a good week to go.

Sevastopol is under illegal Russian occupation. Donetsk has been deeply affected by the war. Neither belongs on a week you plan together, on a photo list, or as a "maybe we will see the sea" add-on.

If advice is mixed by region, treat the listing as region-specific. Write the oblast or the city. Ukraine is not one tourism product, and a listing that pretends it is will waste both of you.
