Lomé market or Kpalimé hills: who shares the Togo add-on?

You already have Ghana dates. Three spare days after Accra can be Lomé and the Kpalimé hills, not a two-week country you owe the map. Rooms near the market sell as twins. The hill hop is a taxi quoted for the car. The crossing is kinder when the other person already holds the same border morning and a wallet of CFA, because leftover Accra cedis will not buy the plate.

Togo is a narrow West African strip. French is the planning language. Ewe is common in the south. Kabiyé matters farther north. You pay in West African CFA francs, a new money, not leftover Accra cash. Lomé is a dusty, palm-lined capital with French-era fronts, a big market, and a beach road that is a city, not a resort brochure. Eat fufu with light soup, djenkoume (the tomato cornmeal plate), ayimolou (rice and beans), grilled tilapia, and pate, the maize dough that shows up under sauce. Ghanaian fufu already taught you this table. A wine-list week belongs somewhere else. Most of how to find travel friends on this strip is naming the crossing you will actually use, and whether the second night is a fan room off the Grand Marché or a guesthouse above Kpalimé.

Ask whether you are really adding three days to a Ghana week, or inventing a Togo itinerary because the map looks small. Border hours, the Ghana side you will exit, and whether both of you already hold the papers that crossing needs are the first facts. This page does not invent visa rules. Then look at the season. November to March is the dry window worth planning around. November through February is the core of that span. A hill walk in Kpalimé is a different day in hard rain. If your Ghana dates sit in the wet months, the Togo add-on may be a Lomé market weekend, not a ridge.

If the Ghana week is still a maybe, Togo is not an add-on yet. It is its own trip, and it needs its own dates.

For most people it is three days. Night one in Lomé. A day into the Kpalimé hills. A third night back on the coast or already pointed at the border. That is the kind week. Stretching it into a discover-Togo circuit usually means you have not named a northern reason yet. That is fine. It is just a longer trip.
