Why is the river the week, not another Atlantic clone?

The Gambia is a short river-and-bird country, often paired with Senegal. Mangrove channels, upriver lodges, and birding mornings are what two people can actually split without repeating a package-holiday paragraph. Banjul is a compact historic capital, useful as a door, not as a week of colonial-architecture adjectives. One boat day, one bird guide, and two or three upriver or coastal nights is a complete, honest trip. A listing that only says golden sand will match you against every other winter-sun brochure on the coast. If Senegal is also on the passport stamp, say which side owns which nights.
